Falling in Love with England

Hello world,

I did not have WiFi yesterday. I apologize but that’s life. We did have a great day, though.

In the morning we all split up: my mom and Linus went to a museum, my dad went to a guitar store, and Jonathan and I went shopping in Oxford St. There’s a lot of cool stores there like Urban Outfitters, Topshop, Primark – uaaaah, yup, I went to Primark. But I do want to emphasize that I was very shocked by the headlines of the starving sewers in jail. Not cool, Primark!

We walked to Trafalgar Square. It was really hot and I did not want to take off my sweater and hat: they were part of my outfit – duh. So I just lay in the shade like a drop of water.

I suffered so much, I had to do an OOTD. So today will be the first official fashion post.  I wore:

Burgundy tank from H&M
Tiger print sweater from Clockhouse
Levi’s cut Offs from Ragstock
Hat from H&M
Cross necklace from my parents
Bag from Brandy Melville
Chucks from Converse

The outfit was a bit warm for the weather but I liked it.

In the evening we met one of my father’s friends from college. For a while we sat on a bench next to the Thamses. I went on the beach and it was very nice: the seagulls were screaming, an accordion was playing, and the waves splashing against the rocks. Just the water was a bit dirty but I guess I am spoiled with the crystal clear Aare.

As finish for our London trip we went on the London Eye. That was a tip from my friend Pascal Sommer who has a really great photography blog which you can find here. It was amazing. The sun was just setting and spilling golden light on the Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Wimbledon – you could see so much. I’ll just let the pictures talk.

I love England. I liked it when I went with my mom 5 years ago. I really liked it when I went with my English class 2 years ago. I fell in love with it this time around; the accent, the culture, the individuality and the self-confidence to wear it, the weather, the city – everything. One day I will live in England for a short time or for a longer time. I have to. I fell in love.

PS: This post is not in photography because I did not take these pictures: my dad did.
